Sustainable Energy and Climate Change Training for the Public Sector

It's surprising the amount of money and carbon that can be saved through behavioural change alone.

USEA's training packages can help to achieve such savings through inspiring, informing and encouraging individuals to make some small changes. Together, they add up to a lot!

Our training packages will also be of interest if you are striving to hit Carbon Reduction Commitments or working towards accredition for Environmental Management Systems, for example ISO 14001.

TAILORED TRAINING

USEA can offer a range of tailored courses suitable for staff or Councillors, from 45 minute presentations, 2 to 3 hour workshops, through to full day training mixing interaction, discussion and practical exercises.

Popular TOPICs

We can cover a range of topics or focus on one of particular interest to you:

  • Climate Change – the  carbon cycle & fossil fuels for non scientists
  • Climate Change – the significance of personal actions. Including waste minimisation & recycling, water conservation, personal transport, food miles and energy.
  • Energy Awareness at home and work.
  • Renewable/low carbon energy technologies.
  • Creating Energy Champions.
  • Making warmth affordable.
  • Adapting to a changing climate (following procedures for NI 188).
  • Conducting an ‘Energy walk-round’ audit

PRACTICAL BENEFITS

Where available, energy consumption data (NI 185) from the council will be used. This helps participants identify where maximum financial and carbon savings can be made and where effort should therefore be concentrated.

USEA's clients to date include:

  • Thames Valley Police
  • South Bucks District Council
  • Aylesbury Vale District Council
  • Hertsmere Borough Council
  • Cherwell District Council
  • West Oxfordshire District Council
  • Three Rivers District Council
